Seriously and honestly, it's absolutely fine.
I'm so friggin' busy with the basement apartment,
the boys, my sister, my grandparents, and Mad's
strange schedule that I haven't had much time to
reply to anything that wasn't absolutely necessary,
either, lol. ^^

I have a cold. It's horrible. Lol.
But besides that I'm quite well. c:
I hope you are, too !

Okay, okay, cool. ; v; I didn't
wanna feel like a bad friend, aha.
Well, I hope things get less busy
for you soon! I just got over a cold
not too long ago, oh man. But yeah,
other than that, it's okay so far. c:

nope. impossible. I'm like so ridiculously inattentive to things that it doesn't bother me. lol.
but by the way, I've come to the twenty first century and got a cell phone.. not that I'm using it for anything more than its apps but I totally love being able to check all my stuff without having to turn my laptop on. SO beautiful. ; u;

Hey Sylv, your work is looking better and better every time you update. I love seeing your style transforming with the digital tools. Maybe sometime we could even do an art trade. I hope all is well with you and your new addition to the family <3

Thank you, Alexis ! Though most of the "work" I do doesn't conisist of much,
I am slowly progressing with my digital arts. I still, mainly, draw cartoons
because I think it's where most of my talent lie (I'm not so good at trying
new things) but I'm hoping that, eventually, when I get my head wrapped
completely around my work and it's actually good, I will try branching out
to bigger things. But for now, I am comfortable and don't plan on pushing
my boundaries too much.

Your illustrations obviously put my corny cartoons to shame, lol. Especially
your amazing wildlife illustrations; they're completely amazing. I was just
telling my sister about how I love them so much; school obviously did you
well and here I am, regretting, just a little bit, that I will never be able to
mentally or financially put myself through art school. But there are some
fantastic self-taught artits out there and I shouldn't turn my lights off just
yet, I know. -- I would love to do an art trade with you, eventually, when
my work is good enough. Lol. But right now, I feel like your work would
whop mine and I might end up feeling ashamed of whatever I might send
to you. Lol.

How have you been, anyway ? You graduated ? What are you doing now /
plan to do in the near future ? 'Miss talking to you !

I think doing cartoons is great! The most important thing is to create whatever
you are inspired to do. If that's what you enjoy then you need not feel pressure
to do more :) In fact, sometimes I wish I was able to focus on one thing and master it
rather than have my mind wanting to explore so many different directions at once. I think your
cartoons are rather rich and consist of a lot more than you give them credit for. Digital is still
a whole new world I have a hard time branching into. I've done a little with vector programs
but still avoid it like the plague. I would like to challenge myself to try it someday.

I did finally graduate last may and I've had some great experiences since selling at craft fairs.
I'm still trying to focus and attempt to approach a publisher abut a children's book. Until I do
that I'm afraid my art career will be slow to take off. But I am content right now. I took up a job
working in a preschool and still have plenty of time to work on my art. I've also taken on the task of
becoming a Druid's apprentice in hopes of possibly becoming a Druid priestess. (I know, weird right?)
But it's such an adventure! I also found an amazing and sweet guy. So things are going pretty well.
Honestly, art school was a great experience and gave me some great foundations. But it all really comes down to the work you choose to put into
it. I think you are every bit as amazing. Maybe you'll find a class or an art group to join you might enjoy.
There's a new Herbology shop in farmington who is planning on starting up open studio nights. It's a lot of
fun surrounding yourself with other creative people :) I think you'd be an amazing tattoo artist. If you got your
portfolio together and decided it would be something you'd like to pursue, all you need do is talk to a
local tattoo shop and they may take you on as an apprentice. Even if you don't make art into a career I hope
you continue to enjoy it and just have fun! I put so much pressure on myself to be great, and now I realize
that isn't as important as doing what makes you smile.

To be honest, digital is the only art I'm even comfortable with anymore.
Pen and paper seem so foreign.. not just because I hate that I can't erase, but
because I have kids, a two year old running amuck especially, whom can't be
trusted around any book or loose paper, haha. And I know I'm getting better
with it every time I create, which is a great feeling. -- If ever you get interested,
I think I told you about Monoprice tablets ? They're cheap and PERFECT. No
worries about wasting money because it's a fantastic product; and I'm so in
love with it. Lol.
I also don't think it's weird that you're practicing to become a Druid priestess. I
don't think anybody religion or faith one bit odd. We all believe in something and
there's no shame in that. -- Also, I'm so glad to hear you've found somebody nice
to share yourself with. I think it is so important to love and be loved; there is no
stronger alliance than your family and those you consider as such.
I don't know if I'll ever become a tattoo artist just because I'm so limited in my
talents and so unwilling to force myself to want to learn. I could tattoo the things
I -can- draw, but ultimately, that won't be enough to entice customers who
want symbolic tattoos.. maybe someday ? But not anything I think I can handle
in the next ten years. Too much skill required.. but I'd still love to work in an area
like that even if it was just cleaning up or something. -shrug-
